First the PRO'S :
1) The mower came via Amazon Prime in a day - amazing!
2) Very quick to unpack assemble and easy to start.
3) Propulsion is strong and fast. (but not that variable)
4) Engine is easy to start and pretty powerful.
Now the big CON.
1)This mower clogs INCESSANTLY in the default mulching configuration (which is what I bought it for). I'm surprised given all the positive reviews. I can barely make it 50 ft in medium thick grass without the deck clogging and engine stalling. I then need to flip the mower on the side and pull out massive amounts of grass leaving piles all over the lawn.
2) The mower blade attachment point is keyed (see photos) so you cannot many std blades with this mower.
3) The bag is small but probably not smaller than similar mowers.
4) This unit does not come with a side discharge unit you have to order it online - at least its free.
SUMMARY : I've only used this mower twice but so far it is useless as a mulching mower. Its simply unusable in this mode. My previous mower which was a John Deere seemed less durable but had no trouble actually cutting my lawn under worse conditions.
I will say that the included blade looks alot flatter than other mulching blades I've used so I'm hoping a blade change will alleviate the problem and I'll update when/if I can find a replacement.
UPDATE 1: Turns out the mower is shipped with a '3 in 1' blade (part # 532437601) which doesn't make any sense because the default configuration is for mulching which this blade is useless for. I called Husqvarna customer service and they recommended taking my 1 day old mower to a service center for evaluation. Not overly helpful.
UPDATE 2: They gave me the wrong part number for the mulching blade : #532406713 Husqvarna 406713 22-Inch Lawn Mower Blade For Husqvarna/Poulan/Roper/Craftsman/Weed Eater I ordered this blade and turns out it doesn't fit this mower as the blade attachment pt is keyed. Very frustrating.
UPDATE 3: After several tries with Husqvarna CS I've been told that a keyed mulching blade is NOT made for this mower. To add insult to injury after 2 uses the mower has developed a high pitched whining noise that I think is related to the drive system but I can't be sure.
I've contacted Amazon and their policy is not to take returns on items like this and they tell you to refer the manufacturer. Husqvarna will not take this item back either.
Bottom line. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOWER. If you buy one buy locally. I've just wasted $400.
